China at the V&A
I recently went to the newly opened China Department at the V&A. Its well worth a visit – the exhibition is absolutely phenomenal. It has exquisite ceramics from 3,500BC to the present day and has a vast and comprehensive collection of every conceivable pattern, technique and shape. I could move in.

Galicia
I recently spent a weekend in Santiago de Compostella, a spectacular town in Galicia Spain. At the centre of this city is the monumental Cathedral. The surrounding streets are paved in stone and the architecture is spectacular. We found some great little restaurants and ate superb local seafood, including a very bizarre dish that is unique to the area of goose barnacles.

I spent a lovely rainy day wandering around the vegetable gardens and greenhouses at West Dean. It is an inspiring and calming day out.
