Monday the 23rd of January we celebrate Chinese New Year and enter the year of the Water Dragon. Mandarins are a popular new years gift or decoration as they symbolise abundant wealth for the year to come. A very happy, healthy and prosperous new year to all.

At New Year we like to write our wishes on sky lanterns and set them off at midnight. You can buy wire-free ones that don't damage the environment.

To make you Christmas table extra special, tie the napkins with a little twine and a sprig each of ivy and some pretty berries.

Hanging Hearts

Hanging Hearts
Why not try making heart-shaped cookies with holes in them. It is fun and if you use a pretty ribbon they look lovely decorating the tree or tied to presents. Here is my Gingerbread recipe, which works a treat for this.
