Request a catalogueEvery Sophie Conran sofa is made to order. You choose the size, the shape, and the fabric, and we build it by hand. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be sold. Yours is made for you, from the frame up.
The frame is solid hardwood, jointed and glued rather than stapled. The cushions are filled with feather and foam, so they hold their shape and you can shake them back by hand. The fabrics run from plains and weaves to hand-painted florals, and we will post you samples before you decide anything.
We guarantee the frame for twenty-five years. When the upholstery eventually wears, we will recover it for you rather than tell you to buy another sofa. That is the whole idea of buying one good piece instead of three cheap ones.
Each sofa is built in our workshop in Britain. The frame is cut and jointed first, then the springs are tied by hand. The upholstery goes on after that, stretched and stitched at the corners, and the cushions are filled to weight.
It takes time, which is why a sofa is ten to twelve weeks from order to delivery. We think it is worth the wait, and most people who have owned one tell us the same.
