Orange Scalloped Single Duvet Cover

We have styled this fabulous bed with square pillowcases behind oxford pillowcases for extra comfort, then a flat sheet folded over a duvet cover to create gorgeous layering. We love using the flat sheets especially when you get hot as they make a light and blissful covering.

Care: Our bedlinen is made in Portugal and it is embroidered by hand and then cut to create the scalloped edge. The way that scalloped border is made is by including a very narrow strip of paper backing onto the edge of the bed linen itself to guide the seamstress who is making the item. These are all hand cut and then sewn with a special overlock. It is a very labour intensive process.  The paper is then removed from the outside and inside of the embroidered overlock but a very small amount of it is retained within the embroidery.

When you first start washing your bedlinen, you may see the small amount of backing paper working its way out through the embroidery as the paper disintegrates and dissolves. This is a normal characteristic of the bedlinen and is not a defect or the disintegration of the scalloped stitching but the paper. It is often accentuated with coloured scalloped edges. After several washes, this will disappear. We recommend pressing the scalloped edges to keep them looking at their absolute best.

Please Note: The duvet cover has a button closure and the pillowcases have a flap closure. The scalloped detailing goes around 3 sides of the duvet cover and the top end has a flat sheet which is folded over the top.
