Sophia 3 seater sofa in Cotton Linen Marigold - Made to Order

Sophie has owned the original late 18th century version of our Sophia sofa for over 20 years now and has loved it from the moment she first saw it. It’s a very versatile piece as it works equally well as a more formal sofa in a hallway or drawing room, an occasional sofa in a study, or an extremely comfortable dining sofa. We have carefully reproduced this sofa to the exact proportions of the original. We have upgraded the comfort with the addition of a sprung base and high quality foam removable seat cushion. Sophia is fully customisable and comes in two sizes of sofa and an armchair as standard.

Traditional craftsmanship

Sophia is handcrafted in the UK by our expert makers using time-honoured techniques. The hardwood frame is dowelled, glued, and screwed for lifelong integrity, and the serpentine springs in the seat base provide real comfort and long-term support.  

The single seat cushion is filled with a foam core wrapped in a 70% feather and 30% down blend, giving a welcoming, indulgent feel while still holding its shape beautifully and requiring minimal plumping.

Classical design, beautifully finished

Sophia follows the classical silhouette it has been modelled after, with an elegant, composed presence that anchors a room.

The upholstery is meticulous, showcasing the precision of hand-finished piping that complements her classical lines. She stands on handsomely turned wooden legs, providing a refined lift and a touch of storied charm that suits both contemporary and formal interiors.

Bespoke and made to order

Fully customisable, Sophia is available in two sofa sizes and an armchair as standard. As each piece is made to order, she can be upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and dimensions can be adapted to suit your space while remaining true to the original design.

Looking after them: Our wonderful team put a great deal of love and care into making each one of our sofas, here are some of the main guidelines for looking after them.

Natural materials perform very differently from the man-made foam fillings that are in most of the sofas you’ll find today. Each cushion is filled by hand with European Duck Feather. Take care to plump them in a similar way you would plump a feather bed pillow. The plumping moves the feathers around, pushing fresh air in between them which makes them even more comfy. 

Please take care to check the care instructions before washing your covers and know that it is advisable to wash all elements equally, because colour will likely fade a little each time you clean them. For further information, please read our care guide which can be accessed at anytime
